IAMS Hits the Ground Running at the 44th Annual Corporate Cup

Misha K. – 2nd in age group and 15th overall!

For our January community fundraiser, IAMS employees collected money and needed food items for Food Bank for the Heartland! They stopped by the IAMS office on February 5 to accept a check for $350 and donated items. The nonprofit organization has served counties in Nebraska and western Iowa since 1981, collaborating to provide resources for children, families, seniors, and veterans facing food insecurity.
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, IAMS employees raised nearly $500 for Susan G. Komen and the American Cancer Society in honor of friends and family affected by the disease.
Our fundraising efforts culminated in a pair of events on Oct. 19 – staff from our Elkhorn office participated in the MORE THAN PINK Walk at Werner Park in Papillon, while Topeka office staff participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Evergy Plaza in downtown Topeka.
We were recently at the State Capitol in Lincoln to celebrate Annuity Awareness Month with a proclamation from Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen! Check out these comments from IAMS EVP Chris Conroy, American Life & Security Corp. COO Nate Colon, and Gov. Pillen on the importance of annuities:
IAMS recently raised $1,250 for Blair tornado relief, showcasing our commitment to supporting communities in need. In addition to the monetary donation, we had an abundance of household items donated by our generous employees. The recipients of our featured charity drive were deeply moved and surprised by the gift, reflecting the spirit of kindness and solidarity within our organization. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all employees for their incredible generosity and participation in making this charity drive a resounding success.
The IAMS crew was back in action in Omaha on Sunday, April 21 for the American Lung Association in Nebraska’s 43rd annual Corporate Cup run/walk. They survived starting line temps in the 30s (second year in a row) and raised $495 to support the ALA’s lifesaving missions! Teams raised more than $230,000 total – visit the website and view race results here:
To celebrate National Pet Day on Thursday, April 11, IAMS employees raised funds and donated items to pet rescues – Muddy Paws in Omaha and Saving Death Row Dogs in Topeka. Representatives of Muddy Paws recently stopped by IAMS’ Omaha headquarters to accept the donations! A big thank you to these local organizations for giving all our furry friends a chance at safe and loving homes.
IAMS employees spent February collecting warm winter items and funds to donate to Stephen Center and Open Door Mission’s Lydia House! Both organizations provide much-needed shelter, services, and support to men, women and children in our area.
Visit their websites to learn more and find out ways you can get involved:
On Feb. 8, IAMS employees presented a check for $750 along with handmade blankets and yards of fabric to representatives from Omaha Project Linus, which serves the Greater Omaha and Council Bluffs areas by providing handmade blankets to children who are seriously ill or traumatized – offering them a source of comfort, security, and warmth in a time of need.
Since 2003, more than 84,000 blankets of all sizes and prints have been created and distributed by Project Linus volunteers (a.k.a. ‘blanketeers’). IAMS employees also plan to attend Make a Blanket Day 2024, scheduled for March 2 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Bryan High School in Omaha.

We’re thrilled to support this organization and hope you’ll visit their website for more information and ways to get involved.
We were so pleased to present a check on Dec. 21 for $3,033 to Fire Chief Nick Goss, Fire Captain Chris Schlosser, and our own Annuity Case Manager/volunteer firefighter Natalie Goss of the Nickerson Volunteer Fire Department in Nickerson, Nebraska! IAMS employees held a friendly competition in November to raise money for these selfless men and women.
